Words on Life, Love, Hurt, & Healing

Words on Life, Love, Hurt, & Healing

I've been writing since I was a little girl. And while I don't consider myself to be incredible at it, I love to write, and have found great comfort in it. I also love to read. And in doing so, I've stumbled upon many words over the years that have helped me to feel less alone, and have really given me a sense of comfort in dark times. So, I thought why not compile those quotes and share them with you? I mean even if only one resonates with you, perhaps it will be exactly what you need to hear now, or sometime down the road.

"You don't need to explain the way you heal to anyone." - Simi Fromen

"Depression is also...Smaller than you. Always, it is smaller than you, even when it feels vast. It operates within you, you do not operate within it. It may be a dark cloud passing across the sky, but - if that is the metaphor - you are the sky. You were there before it. And the cloud can't exist without the sky, but the sky can exist without the cloud." - Matt Haig

"I learned that my sadness never destroyed what was great about me. You just have to go back to that greatness, find that one little light that's left. I'm lucky I found one little glimmer stored away." - Lady Gaga

"There's a trick to the 'graceful exit.' It begins with the vision to recognize when a job, a life stage, or a relationship is over - and let it go. It means leaving what's over without denying its validity or its past importance to our lives. It involves a sense of future, a belief that every exit line is an entry, that we are moving up, rather than out." - Ellen Goodman

With love,

Stephanie Katrina
